On Monday Apple released its iOS 13 update and feature with much elaboration. The new iOS 13 updates and features consist of several new features- Dark mode, updated Photos app. Indians are quite happy with the latest iOS 13 release since the new update would support Indian English voice support for Siri. Apple is all set to proffer its Indian users with various other features that focus on Indian users to draw the attention of Indian users.

The new iOS update and feature for Indian users comprise support for Indian languages and Romanised Hindi-English bilingual keyboard with typing predication, as well.

Possibly this would be the first time Apple has registered all the future iOS 13 features mainly intended for Indian users on its official site. One of the prime features iOS13 would bring in India is Indian English voice support for Siri- the company has announced on its official website that the new version would consist of all “new and natural” Indian English female and male Siri voices.

Apart from Indian English Siri voice, iOS 13 update and feature excited to proffer an improved language setup experience that allows the user to select various relevant languages to the dictation languages, keyboards, and chosen languages (if you speak other languages, as well.)

The new iOS 13 update and feature brings Romanised English and Hindi bilingual keyboard support that consists of typing predictions. Furthermore, Apple is also introducing Devanagari to its Hindi keyboard that would suggest the next word as you write and adapt form your typing behavior with time.

Apple has confirmed that the new iOS 13 update and feature would introduce the support for 22 Indian languages; it consists of 15 newly added Indian languages keyboards- Assamese, Bodo, Dogri, Kashmiri (Devanagari, Arabic), Maithili, Konkani, Manipuri, (Bangla, Meetei Mayek), Sanskrit, Sindhi (Devanagari, Arabic), and Santali (Devanagari, OlChiki.)

With the new system fonts, iOS 13 is prepared to include 30 new Indian Document fonts for Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Nepali, Assamese, Telegu, Gujarati, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Gurmukhi, Odia, and Urdu.

Furthermore, there’d be four more new system fonts for Kannada, Odia, Gurmukhi, and Gujarati for a richer reading experience in applications such as typing messages, Safari, swiping thru contacts, and emails.

Apple has claimed on its website that the new iOS 13 update would have video streaming applications comprising Netflix and Hotstar optimize the time of day in order to download your content effectively by preventing clogged networks and highest data prices.

The ‘all India-focussed’ iOS 13 update and feature would lead to iPod and iPhone later this year that would make its way to iPadOS that Apple declared at its WWDC 2019 keynote on Monday. This signifies that all the iOS 13 and iPadOS entitled iPhone, iPad users, iPod touch would be able to undergo the all Indian-centric experience.

India isn’t a big market for Apple, yet. As per the data gave by comScore, iOS had an install foundation of 3.6 million in India since April 2019. According to IDC, the company’s share in the market of Indian smartphone- the first half of 2019 reached 0.7%, jump down straight to 48.7% competed to the same time last year. Regardless of having a minimal share at the current stage, India is undoubtedly an important market for Apple. Article by Cisco in December last year forecasted that India would have more than 800 million smartphone users by the year 2022.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, disclosed last month that the recent price drops of some iPhone models in the US are delivering better results, already. The New apple iOS update is more likely to enhance things more for Apple and could give intense competition to Android in India.
